God Tells Better Stories

All told, my personal thoughts about cinema on matters of Christian faith: the greatest story ever told, ever written, ever imagined was by God and God alone. Doesn't it make sense that the most compelling, cliché moments in cinematic stories would align with the story God wrote? When we see love—particularly the unstoppable, unconditional, unending love of romance—we desperately yearn for that love because God designed us for it.

When we see justice—particularly the absolute, protective, pure, powerful justice—we vehemently applaud it because we can't help but praise perfection (which we only truly find in God).

When we see mercy—particularly the heart-warming, life-changing, humbling, forgiving mercy—we hopefully embrace it because we know in our heart of hearts that we cannot meet God's standard of perfection on our own, and that without mercy we amount to nothingness and die to nothingness, dust to dust.

God continues to write His story, and I want to be a part of it. Do you?
