Learning to tell stories powerfully

How's life treating my media-minded friends? This is our first posting of a resource to help each of you grow. I'll strive to share tutorials, articles, reviews, ideas, discussions, blog posts, and a great many other forms of media-related morsels from the worldwide web!

Use a powerful, engaging, purposeful video to connect with your audience before a speaker session, a conference, a retreat, or a presentation. This playlist holds a few inspirational examples as you produce your own attention-getters, whether for personal promotion or your organization's next meeting.

What a treasure trove of learning and knowledge! I'll admit, one of my favorite aspects of this particular tutorials blog is the crisp visual style of their work; they understand aesthetics, but more importantly, they understand the power of storytelling.

Do you still need affordable software for your video editing needs? Da Vinci Resolve Lite is a free, highly functioning version of their NLE (non-linear editing) video software, with powerful color grading features to boot. For motion graphics peeps, they also offer a free version of Fusion, with only a few minor limitations from the professional version.

NLE software can intimidate even the most veteran editors, so if you need a more user-friendly program for your video edits, look into GoPro Studio software for free from GoPro! For the Apple fanboys (and girls) out there, iMovie is quite a powerful editing program – and even allows you to export in high quality Apple ProRes 4:2:2 codec.
